Dr. Austin Westover is proud to serve the Winchester, VA community as a trusted family dentist known for his compassionate approach and commitment to clinical excellence. His journey in dentistry began with a simple but powerful realization: one dentist can change not only a person’s smile, but their confidence, comfort, and overall quality of life.
While studying at Brigham Young University, Dr. Westover spent significant time volunteering in orphanages throughout Mexico. These experiences shaped his belief in service-driven healthcare and sparked his desire to help people on a deeply personal level. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, he chose Winchester as the place he and his family would proudly call home.
During dental school, Dr. Westover served as a Mission of Mercy project coordinator, helping provide essential dental care to underserved communities across Virginia. His ongoing involvement in these programs earned him multiple service awards, something he considers one of the greatest honors of his career. Today, he continues to bring that same spirit of service into every appointment, building lifelong relationships with patients of all ages.
Committed to Advanced Dental Training
Dr. Westover believes that great dentistry requires continuous learning. He has completed more than 700 hours of advanced continuing education, far exceeding national requirements, allowing him to offer comprehensive care across nearly every area of dentistry.
His post-graduate training includes work at two of the nation’s top dental learning institutes:
- The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dentistry
- The Spear Education Institute
He also maintains numerous professional certifications, including:
- Invisalign® certification
- Hybridge® implant restoration certification
- TMJ Therapy residency through the Center for Occlusal Studies
- Extensive training in Neuromuscular Orthodontic techniques
Dr. Westover is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Shenandoah Valley Dental Association. His dedication to education ensures his patients receive the most modern, effective, and comfortable treatment options available today.
Outside the Office
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Westover is all about family and adventure. He spends most of his free time with his wife, Monika, and their four energetic boys — Bennett, Brayden, William, and Grayson — whether they’re traveling, exploring the outdoors, or simply enjoying everyday moments together.
Dr. Westover is also a big fan of anything with wheels or tech. He loves motorcycles, dirt bikes, video games, and discovering the latest dental gadgets (his team jokes that he’s never met a new piece of technology he didn’t want to try).
Above all, he looks forward to getting to know each patient personally and making every visit feel comfortable, supportive, and tailored to your goals.
